My ink & wax (and more recently digital) pieces draw both from nature and the world around me, and from an inner world of the imagination, language, the past and the unconscious. What interests me is how those different realms jostle up against each other, sometimes feeding, sometimes challenging one another.

Monotype prints represent a different side of my work: more straightforward observations of nature, predominantly of birds and other animals, they only overlap with my ink paintings in their subject matter and free, gestural technique.
