I am solely self taught artist living in Co Cavan. I have always been doing art in one way or another. Mainly for family or friends, Mainly as presents and gifts. I have concentrated on my art now as people constantly encourage me to pursue something that i love doing !
I use mainly the palette knife and larger knives to create my work. I would prefer these as i like lots of texture to create depth of field. I use fresh vibrant colours in my creations. I like to brighten up a wall with the work that i do ! I think that positive, fresh energetic colours are good for well being! Colours can be subjective. I like to use lots of yellows that give a positive feel to a painting, A good reflective colour. Reds , As these draw the eye and give a bit of punch, And can stimulate !Purple is a nice feminine colour and is easy on the eyes!You will see that some of my art is intense ! I like the Sun! And anything to do with it! We all rely on it! I think that the sun can be a very positive thing for those who need stimulation , encouragement and well being.
The artist Paul Klee is one of my inspirational artists. He uses colours and shapes and imagination . Personal experience in his work.Salvador Dali and Peter Howson would be amongst other artists that i admire.
